This diversification of Andeavor's product mix will allow us to efficiently deliver cleaner transportation fuels and new feedstocks that will increase our long-term viability and enhance the economy of Anacortes and the surrounding communities.

Clean Products Upgrade Project

Andeavor is working closely with Skagit County on permits to make upgrades to its Anacortes refinery. Our Clean Products Upgrade Project (CPUP) will diversify production and enable the facility to meet the new Federal Tier 3 standards to reduce emissions. The upgrades will benefit the local environment, create new local jobs and generate additional tax revenue.

In particular, the $400 million CPUP will:

  • Diversify refinery production with the introduction of mixed xylenes to the facility, ensuring greater long-term stability
  • Stimulate the local economy through construction and new full-time family-wage jobs
  • Generate additional tax revenue
  • Reduce emissions during loading operations at our Anacortes wharf
